Atrazine

Today is Rhiannon's last day of 7th grade.
Tomorrow I have to take her to her fathers house for the summer.
I think that sucks on every single level.
I want her to stay with me.
Here is her first day and last day of school picture.  She has grown so much!  I think that sucks too, but in a good way.  I can not believe She is going to be in 8th grade next year!
Jeebus!
Please slow down, time!
A fellow blogger in the Chicago area that I follow has had a bit of bad news lately.  She found out one of the twins she is carrying had an omphalocele, which is in the same genre as gastroschisis - which is what Clara had.
Her case is more severe then what we had and unfortunately she has lost one of her twins.  We got to talking and I had brought to her attention the herbicide Atrazine, which is used heavily in the Midwest and is known to cause both of these terrible birth defects.  It is also banned everywhere except in the good old US of A.  I know for a fact this is what caused Clara's problems.  She is quite sure this is what caused her to lose her baby, too.
This herbicide is not safe in any amount and it NEEDS to be banned.
Please help us by signing the petition.
Remember, this defect is not prejudice.  It can affect you, your mother, your sister, your wife and your daughters.
Nobody should have to go through what we did.
Nobody should lose their child before they have a chance to love them like my fellow blogger did.
Sign the petition here.

Happy Monday!

Preschool!!!/Wednesday Music Break - 39

Today was Clara's first day of preschool.

She woke up at 6:30 excited as a three year old could be.

"I get to go to school today!"  She exclaimed to any and every one that would listen "I get to go to school today!" she said to her big sister.  "Hi dragons!  I'm going to school today!"  "Aww, Buehrle dog!  I'm going to school today!  But you can't come!"

This is what was coming out of her mouth all morning long.

Well.....I could use four letters to sum up her first school experience.  I'll use four words instead.

BIG.  FAT.  FUCKING.  FAIL.

She cried the ENTIRE TIME.

For three whole hours she stood in the corner and cried.

I understand that the kids have to figure out the separation from mom and dad.......But I'm not sure why the teachers didn't call me.....oh I don't know, after the first hour and a half.

Seriously people!

I don't want my baby sobbing in the corner for three freaking hours!

(sigh)

I guess we will try again next week.  If it is a repeat performance, school will have to wait a few more months.

Okay Freddie Mercury.

I'm ready for my midweek break now..

Happy Hump Day!

(Is that not the most fabulous outfit you have ever seen?)

Hold Your Babies Tight...

Things Children Should Think About:

  • What Mama is making for dinner.
  • If They will get to swing today
  • If Mom or Dad will cave and read them an extra book tonight
  • Why (everything) works (with in depth explanations)

Things Children Should Never Ever Think About:

  • A Crazy Ass Person with big scary guns coming into their school and hurting their friends and loved ones.

SERIOUSLY.

History has proven that sometimes people snap under extreme pressure and do something stupid, like take the life of their own child.

But to open fire in a KINDERGARTEN classroom?

27 dead with 18 of those being children?

This is one of many reasons why I will never be pro guns.

This is a perfect example on why I silently hope they will not carry out the "conceal to carry" in Illinois.

This is very very sad.

Hold your babies a little tighter today, folks.  I know I will.
